Ms Astrid Khoo is the Head of Operations at the Asia Centre for Health Security (ACHS), where she leads the Centre’s strategic and operational functions. Her responsibilities include overseeing day-to-day operations, managing key functions including project delivery, partnerships, finance, HR, compliance, and infrastructure, and utilising effective systems and processes to drive research and programme development.
Ms Khoo brings over 20 years of experience in healthcare administration and public health. Prior to joining ACHS, she played a key role in establishing critical public health initiatives, including the National University Health System (NUHS) Regional Health System Planning Office and the Antimicrobial Resistance Coordinating Office at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID). She also contributed to the development of the One Health AMR Research Programme (OHARP) and the Singapore Population Health Improvement Centre (SPHERiC). Through her work, she has been instrumental in strengthening health systems and developing sustainable responses to emerging public health challenges.
Ms Khoo plays a pivotal role in managing cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of research, training, and capacity-building efforts. Through her organisational oversight of people and processes at the centre, she ensures the seamless planning and implementation of health security initiatives, all contributing to the advancement of ACHS’s mission.
